Working Hard

We had a better week this week. We invited
one of our investigators to be baptized, and she accepted! Her baptism is
next weekend. We should also be having a couple more soon.

I continue to learn more about the Gospel and also missionary work. And
even though my companion is new to the mission, he’s teaching me just like
I’m teaching him. We had divisions this week with our District Leader, and
I learned a lot from him, too. We’re always learning here as missionaries.
We never know everything, even Continue reading

Valentine’s Day

I learned this week that Valentine’s Day
does exist in Peru. It’s certainly not the same nor as big as it is in the
States, but it does exist. A couple of the photos that I sent this week are
of the ward party that we had here. The Elders Quorum had an activity for
all the couples in the ward. They shared wedding photos, ate, and sang
karaoke. We didn’t stay for long because they started at like 8:30 and our
curfew is 9:00, but it sounds like everyone had fun.

We’re Alive and Well

Everything is going well here in
Peru. Elder Vera and I are working hard here in Palacio, or ‘The Palace’ in
English. We found a couple new investigator families this week, and we’re
hoping that they feel the desire to be baptized and become members of the
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

We visited one of these families with our bishop. The lesson was awesome.
He taught super clearly, gave great explanations, and taught with the
Spirit. We talked mostly with this family about prayer. Continue reading

It’s a Boy!

I’m now a father here in the mission! My new
companion, fresh out of the CCM in Lima, got here Tuesday morning. His name
is Elder Vera. He’s from Peru. He’s 20. All of his family are members. His
older brother served in this same mission 14 years ago, so that’s cool. I’m
here training him in the area. We went to meet a lot of the members this
week and also taught some of our investigators. He has a strong testimony,
and we get along great. He’s not as crazy as my last companion, but that’s
okay.

I Continue reading
